Michel Nykjær is now in the World Touring Car Championship

Denmark's best touring car driver, reigning Danish Touring Car champion Michel Nykjær, is moving up into the world elite. After winning the Danish Touring Car Championship in 2007 and 2009,
and the European Touring Car Cup in 2007 and 2008, Michel Nykjær has today signed a contract that will allow him to participate in the entire World Touring Car Championship during 2010, and thereby compete on an equal footing with the world's best touring car drivers.

Michel Nykjær and his new principal sponsor, Pole Position Denmark, have signed a contract with the Spanish SEAT team SUNRED Engineering. SUNRED is a semi-factory team which won the 2009 World Championships for private drivers with the Dutch driver Tom Coronel. Michel Nykjær has already participated in his first private test, with excellent results.

"I had two test drives in the SEAT TDI León, and it is a fantastic car," says Michel. "SUNRED and SEAT Sport have very close relations, and
I have full confidence that they can help me to reach the very top of
the tree. My goal is to win the private drivers' championship, the Independent's Trophy, in 2010, which I consider realistic despite
the stiff competition."

In addition to Pole Position Denmark, Michel Nykjær is also sponsored by Valvoline International. Several others sponsors are close to signing
a contract.

"I regard Michel Nykjær as an extraordinary talent who can handle the job," says Henrik Lind, managing director of Pole Position Denmark.
A member of Henrik’s staff brought Michel Nykjær to his attention in 2007, and the two have worked together ever since.

Michel Nykjær will be taking part in his first WTCC race in Curitiba, Brazil, on the weekend of 5-7 March. Until then, he will be engaged in tough physical training and test runs of the new SEAT León TDI race car in Spain.

His principal sponsor, Pole Position Denmark, is owned by Henrik Lind. This is a brand new company which has been set up to work with sponsorships, sporting events and sports promotions. In 2009,
Henrik Lind sold his broadband business, a+, to TDC, where it has now merged with Dansk Kabel TV, a company in which Henrik Lind is director of strategic business development.

Michel Nykjær nu i WTCC-serien

Danmarks bedste standardbilkører, den regerende DTC-mester Michel Nykjær, tager nu springet op i verdenseliten. Efter at have vundet det danske DTC-mesterskab i 2007 og 2009 samt den europæiske ETCC-cup i 2007 og 2008 har Michel Nykjær i dag underskrevet en kontrakt, der gør det muligt for ham at deltage
i 2010 i hele WTCC-serien for standardbiler og dermed konkurrere
på lige fod med verdens bedste standardbilkørere.

Michel Nykjær og hans nye hovedsponsor, Pole Position Denmark,
har underskrevet en kontrakt med det spanske Seat team SUNRED Engineering. SUNRED er et semifabriksteam og vandt i 2009 VM for privatkørere med hollænderen Tom Coronel. Michel Nykjær har allerede deltaget i sine første private test med fremragende resultat.

"Jeg har fået to testkørsler i Seat TDI Leon, og det er en fantastisk bil. SUNRED og Seat Sport har meget tætte relationer og jeg har fuld tiltro til, at de kan hjælpe mig til at komme øverst på sejrsskamlen. Mit mål et at vinde privatkørernes mesterskab, Independent's Trophy i 2010, og jeg anser det for realistisk til trods for den skarpe konkurrence," fortæller Michel Nykjær.

Ud over Pole Position Denmark sponseres Michel Nykjær også af Valvoline International. Flere andre sponsorer er tæt på at tegne kontrakt.

"Jeg anser Michel Nykjær for et helt usædvanligt talent, som vil kunne løfte opgaven," siger direktør Henrik Lind, Pole Position Denmark.
Det var en af Henrik Linds medarbejdere, der i 2007 gjorde ham opmærksom på Michel Nykjær, og de to har arbejdet sammen lige siden.

Michel Nykjær deltager i sit første WTCC-løb i brasilianske Curitiba i weekenden 5.-7. marts. Indtil da står den på hård fysisk træning samt testkørsler af den nye Seat Leon TDI-racerbil i Spanien.

Hovedsponsor Pole Position Denmark ejes af Henrik Lind. Det er et helt nystartet selskab, der skal arbejde med sponsorships, sport events og sport promotion. Henrik Lind solgte i 2009 sit bredbånds-firma a+ til TDC, hvor det i dag er fusioneret med Dansk Kabel TV,
et selskab, hvor Henrik Lind er direktør for strategisk forretningsudvikling.
